Performs maintenance of one or more specific areas of maintenance department responsibility including battery changing and battery maintenance, assisting with lift equipment maintenance and limited conveyor maintenance, and/or repairs EZ-store rolling containers (Rolltainers).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sorts, straightens, welds and performs general repairs to Rolltainers.
Replaces mesh restraints, wheels and other parts on Rolltainers.
Assists shipping department with loading, unloading, and movement of Rolltainers.
Assists with changing batteries, performing preventive maintenance on lift batteries and on battery equipment including changers and chargers.
Assists maintenance mechanics with lift equipment maintenance.
Assists maintenance mechanics with conveyor equipment maintenance.
Assists with running scrubber as needed.
Cleans work area.
Meets and maintains safety, quality and productivity standards.
Knowledge of and skill in bending, welding, cutting, drilling and fabricating metals.
Basic reading skills of both words and numbers.
Ability to read manuals and follow written and oral instructions.
Oral communication skills.
Competency to use amp meter and gauges involved in battery changing and maintenance.
Ability to learn the operation of and attain certification to drive material handling equipment.
Visual acuity for equipment licensing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
