Position Summary...
Join Walmart as a Distinguished Software Engineer, leading the design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered systems that drive intelligent automation and enhance user experiences. Our team manages enterprise-scale big data platforms, delivering stable and governed data warehouse and lake solutions. We develop advanced platform capabilities supporting large-scale data needs across business domains, enabling applications, reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives. Focused on reliability, scalability, and innovation, we integrate cloud-native architectures and AI agents to enhance system performance.
Emphasizing operational excellence, continuous improvement, and technical leadership, the team ensures robust, enterprise-grade platforms that drive business value and support strategic objectives across Walmart’s ecosystem.
What you'll do...
Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native, AI-powered software systems and intelligent automation solutions.
Translate domain-level strategies into system-level implementations, ensuring architectural integrity and reliability.
Drive operational excellence through technical guidance, code reviews, and strategic architectural decisions.
Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure resilient, observable, and performant services.
Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks, improving system scalability and developer experience.
Mentor engineers to foster continuous learning and uphold high standards in design and delivery.
Innovate and build new capabilities in the Big Data space focused on improving Spark job performance and optimizing workloads.
Develop new approaches to meet Big Data SLAs while reducing cloud capacity requirements.

Proven expertise in designing and building scalable, cloud-native software systems and AI-powered solutions.
Strong technical leadership with experience driving architectural integrity and operational excellence across engineering teams.
Deep knowledge of AI agents, Big Data, and reliability engineering to deliver resilient, high-performing services.
Demonstrated ability to lead the full software development lifecycle, including DevOps and CI/CD best practices.
Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
Effective collaboration and communication skills to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
