AMD is seeking a Lead Engineer, Behind-the-Meter Power Infrastructure to act as a client representative and technical validation lead for gas-to-power and behind-the-meter data center power projects.
In this role, you will review and validate end-to-end power solutions from gas supply and pipeline infrastructure through generation, alternators, BESS, substations, medium-voltage distribution, protection systems, and final delivery to the data center load.
You will collaborate with developers, EPCs, utilities, gas suppliers, OEMs, consultants, and internal AMD teams to determine whether proposed solutions are technically sound, schedule-realistic, aligned with applicable permitting requirements, and capable of reaching commercial operation.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is an experienced power infrastructure technical leader with demonstrated judgment from an owner/client perspective. You understand how gas supply, permitting, generation, electrical collection, substations, controls, and commissioning come together to deliver reliable power to a mission-critical data center.
You can independently evaluate assumptions, constructively identify design and schedule gaps, and translate complex technical risks into clear, evidence-based recommendations for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
