As an Employment Consultant I, you'll… Employment Consultants support around 12 - 18 individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful employment by building relationships with local businesses in the community.
They spend significant time in the community connecting with employers. They balance job development (outreach) with client coaching and documentation while using a person-centered approach to train, coach, and mentor clients toward making progress with their employment goals. They must use creative thinking skills to develop relationships with local business owners and hiring managers.
Employment Consultants must have excellent time management, problem-solving, and networking skills along with a sales acumen and professional level written and oral communication skills. They must be self-directed, with the ability to work independently and in a team, and must be effective in the use of technology and systematically documenting in a detailed manner.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Employment Consultant I:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work or related field is preferred.
6+ months of previous experience is required. Previous experience in Sales, Recruiting or Staffing, Business Development, and Customer-facing roles are highly preferred.
Combination of previous experience and education will be considered.
Previous experience working with people with disabilities is highly preferred.
Highly sought certifications: ASL, Benefits Planning, experience with DVR, Ticket to Work, or Foundational Community Supports.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and other computer software programs.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with others in a courteous, professional, and helpful way.
Knowledge of community resources to assist clients in overcoming barriers to employment is highly preferred.
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
