We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one care for a 32-year-old man who lives at home with his family. This is a unique role for someone who is skilled in complex medical care and also enjoys the human side of the job: conversation, humor, and genuine connection.
About the Client:
The gentleman receiving care is quadriplegic and medically complex. He is bed-bound and requires skilled monitoring and hands-on care throughout the day. He is alert, intelligent, and cognitively sharp. Because of vocal cord damage he cannot get sounds out clearly, so communication relies on lip reading and a lot of patience. He is a big sports fan (ESPN, basketball, hockey, and the New York Rangers), and the right nurse will enjoy chatting sports with him. He thrives with caregivers who are patient, personable, calm, and reassuring.
