Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc's. Norfolk, Nebraska location is northwest of Omaha. The area is known for their manufacturing, farming (both livestock and grain), education, retailing, and wholesaling. Well-known as the home of Johnny Carson. Our location produces powdered and dehydrated meat and poultry products, for use in products such as seasonings, soups, and instant meals.
This position has the responsibility to always comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, to reduce product and process variability.
Collaborate closely with cycle counters to maintain inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and identify root causes of inventory variances. May have to complete physical counts of inventory to reconsolidate any discrepancies
Reconcile receipts with accounting records and resolve shipment discrepancies with carriers and suppliers.
Create, process, and monitor Stock Transport Orders (STOs) to ensure accurate and timely transfer of inventory between facilities while maintaining inventory accuracy and product availability.
Contact shipper if outside receipt regarding product over or short.
Contact customer service to verify over or short with customer.
Investigate and resolve product overages and shortages by communicating with the purchasing manager.
Adjust inventory and check aging of products.
Monitor and update inventory records daily, reporting significant inventory adjustments to management
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established safety policies and procedures and applying safety principles to all job duties and responsibilities.
Maintains compliance with quality standards and GMP requirements, ensuring sanitary conditions and product quality are consistently upheld. Reports on any conditions or practices that could adversely affect food safety, quality, or regulatory compliance to management
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
Minimum one-year experience with Warehousing preferred.
Proficient with computer applications.
Must be detail orientated.
Experience with SAP preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, ratios. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
