From Promega's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
Instrumentation Supply Chain is a close-knit team of three: a Senior Buyer/Planner, a Supply Chain Production Planner, and a Supply Chain Supervisor. We keep Promega's Instrumentation products moving from forecast to finished instrument, closely supporting Instrumentation Manufacturing and R&D as part of the broader Materials Management and Supply Chain organization.
We work cohesively, especially when a challenge or an urgent deadline hits. We are not a team that scrambles when things get hard. We are built for it. Our leader believes in giving people the tools, information, and autonomy to own their work, with clear expectations and systems that remove friction.
We are also investing in how we work. We have already built and adopted AI-assisted tools across planning, forecasting, and documentation, and there is more in the pipeline. Our newest teammate will help shape what comes next.
As our Supply Chain Production Planner 2, you will own the schedule that turns demand into instruments. Each day you will review MRP results and the production order queue, using our AI planning tools to focus on what actually needs attention, then release and sequence production orders across our Instrumentation lines: Spectrum, GloMax, Navigator, Galaxy, and Maxprep. You will work side by side with the Production Supervisor to resolve floor issues in real time.
You will also keep the Global Instrumentation forecast current as placement and sales data come in. You will sync with our Senior Buyer/Planner on anything that puts the week's schedule at risk, and partner with Product Management, Customer Service, Engineering, R&D, and Production on demand shifts, backorders, engineering changes, and new instrument ramps.
The work is careful and methodical by default, and it calls for the ability to pivot fast when a shortage, vendor delay, or quality hold changes the plan. It rewards people who catch errors at entry rather than downstream, and who look for ways to make the process itself better, whether that means automating a manual step or putting AI to work on repetitive lookups and drafting.
The work has a real destination. Spectrum CE serves the Genetic Identity market, so the schedule you build determines how quickly instruments reach labs doing identity and kinship work. There is room to grow here too: further steps in the planning career path, lateral moves across Materials Management and Supply Chain, and a group that is consciously building its next generation of leaders.
