A Captain, based on their specific responsibilities, can act as either the Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC), ensuring that flight operations are conducted with the highest standards of safety, passenger convenience, and cost-efficiency. When acting as Pilot Flying (PF), the captain is supported by the Co-captain, who takes on the role of Pilot Monitoring (PM) by overseeing cockpit activities and alerting them to any deviations from Company standard operating procedures or safe practices.
