Assistant Professor (CHS)
The Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is dedicated to advancing the field of radiation oncology through excellence in education, research, and patient care. We are committed to training the next generation of leaders—including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapy professionals—while conducting innovative research that drives progress in cancer treatment.
Our team is equally devoted to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals affected by cancer.
The Department of Radiation Medicine is seeking two radiation oncologists for non-tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. One position will be appointed on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track, and one position will be appointed on the Clinician-Teacher (CT) track.
Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track: The CHS position will provide clinical care at University Hospital, Eastpark Medical Center, and the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans' Hospital. Areas of clinical focus may include breast cancer, genitourinary malignancies, and/or tumors of the central nervous system. Approximately 50% of clinical activity will be provided at the VA Hospital in Madison, which is physically connected to University Hospital.
Protected time and support will be provided for academic activities, which may include clinical and translational research and education and mentorship of residents and students.
Clinician-Teacher (CT) Track: The CT position will provide clinical care at the Department's Johnson Creek location, with clinical practice four days per week. One day per week of protected time and support will be provided for academic activities, which may include clinical and translational research and education and mentorship of residents and students.
Both positions offer the opportunity to contribute to the Department's clinical, educational, and academic missions while working within a collaborative and innovative radiation oncology program.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Clinical Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor CHS, Clinical Associate Professor, Associate Professor CHS, Clinical Professor, Professor CHS. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Compensation
Negotiable, 12 month

Completion of residency training in Radiation Oncology and Board certification (or expected within 2 years of hiring).
