LAYIQ - Tool & Die Maker at Crown Holdings

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements: Ø Five to ten year(s) experience in a manufacturing environment
Ø Thorough knowledge of working with ferrous, non-ferrous and non-metallic materials, cutting oils, grinding compounds and other procession materials
Ø Proven competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment
Preferred Requirements: Ø High School Education/GED or equivalent
Ø Associates Degree or a vocational or technical certification or a journeyman’s card or license
Ø High-speed packaging industry experience
Ø Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing
Competencies: Ø Strong problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
Ø The ability to be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications
Ø High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment
Ø Proven experience with running precision equipment as well as equipment re-build knowledge
Ø Must be able to look at new solutions and “think creatively and strategically” to solve problems
Ø Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.
Ø Excellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-task
Ø Proven math and computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
Physical Requirements: Ø While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ø The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion
Ø Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
Ø The employee must be able to work up to twelve (12) hours shifts, both day and evening
Ø Employees will be required to have their own tools
Working Conditions: Ø The majority of work will be in a plant environment but maybe required to move around to different parts of the manufacturing floor
Ø While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic in the plant
Ø The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
Ø The noise level is frequently loud
