LAYIQ - Experienced Complete Streets Designer/Civil Engineer at Fehr & Peers

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related major (e.g., geography, math, statistics, economics)
Currently hold a California professional engineer’s (PE) license in Civil Engineering, or have the ability to obtain through reciprocity within one year
Demonstrated understanding of complete streets, including separated bikeways, protected intersections, and roundabout layout
Experience applying Caltrans, MUTCD, NACTO, and AASHTO design standards/guidelines on a variety of projects
Experience developing construction documents (final design, PS&E) for traffic engineering projects
Familiarity with preparing and reviewing signing, striping, and traffic signal plans
Familiarity with safety countermeasure selection and design
Familiarity with mobility issues and how they affect transportation engineering
Familiarity with the Safe System approach to safety
Experience leading proposals and building client relationships
Interest and experience with mentoring and training staff
Openness to exploring and responsibly using new technologies and tools, while maintaining critical thinking and professional judgment.
Additional Desired Qualifications: Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification
Traffic Engineer (TE) certification
ADA and PROWAG expertise
Quick-build project design and implementation
Active transportation planning and design
Road safety planning and design
