LAYIQ - Orthopedic Technician (Orthopedic Clinic) at Copper River Family of Companies

Assists physicians with patient care; properly fits and applies pre-operative braces, crutches, and other soft goods; assists in preparation for and application of casts and orthopedic appliances; changes dressings; removes sutures, casts, and splints.
Assists physicians and nurses with orthopedic procedures, including wound care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures, fracture reductions, etc; instructs patients in cast and traction care and the use of orthopedic appliances.
Maintains clean and well-stocked cast and soft goods room; orders special supplies and/or equipment.
Coordinates data collection resources for the clinic information systems.
Remains current with orthopedic trends, care and supplies; performs other duties as assigned.
Shall integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction.
Shall recognize safety measures and quickly react in real world emergencies and exercise situations. After orientation, be familiar with 96MDG policies and procedures for emergency measures.
Shall participate in continuing professional development programs as appropriate.
Shall adhere to the policies/standards of the Air Force medical service and the 96th medical group in meeting or exceeding established Air Force standards for access. Attend clinic huddles and/or staff meetings as necessary within normal duty hours.
Shall possess knowledge of medical privacy and confidentiality (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act [HIPAA]), and accreditation standards of Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), The Joint Commission (TJC), and Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).
Shall possess knowledge and experience in Patient Advocacy, Patient Privacy, and Customer Relations.
Shall possess working knowledge of computer applications/software to include Microsoft Office programs, MS Outlook (e-mail), and internet familiarity is required. The ability to input, extract, and format data from established databases.
The Surgical Technologist is expected to maintain professional conduct and consistently meet all contractual performance and quality standards. FSR PM will address and resolve all substantiated complaints. Performance standards permit no more than two (2) substantiated internal or external complaints per quarter. Depending on the nature and severity of a substantiated complaint, the Surgical Technologist may be subject to counseling, corrective action, and/or removal from performing services under the contract.
