LAYIQ - MK2 Crew Lander GN&C Modeling & Simulation Engineer III at Blue Origin

Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science
5+ years of software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C++, Rust, and Simulink
Experience in modeling GN&C components, and analyzing performance of GN&C subsystem or components via simulation, testing, or analytical methods
Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and 1st principles physics-based mathematical models
Hands-on experience with testing frameworks and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines such as Gitlab
Experience with configuration management
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired (but not required): MS or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary, and familiarity with software verification approaches
Experience developing software for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
Experience auto coding Simulink to C++
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with verification and validation of aerospace simulations and models
Experience developing and maintaining simulation models including plant physics, sensors, and actuators
Familiarity with DO-178, DO-160, and DO-254 or similar guidelines
Experience using AI to augment workflows, processes, and analysis
Experience with tools such as Gitlab, Bash, Conan, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Ansible
Base Pay Range for: CO applicants is $150,931.00 - $211,303.05
WA applicants is $164,652.00 - $230,512.80

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
