Overview
To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.
The Neuro Telemetry Technician is a bachelor's-prepared neurophysiology professional who provides continuous and retrospective surveillance and structured annotation of neurophysiologic data in support of clinical operations, quality initiatives, education, and approved research activities.
Working under the direction of credentialed neurophysiology personnel and designated clinical or research leadership, the Neuro Telemetry Technician identifies and documents predefined clinical, behavioral, technical, environmental, and potential neurophysiologic events using standardized annotation and escalation protocols.
The position requires foundational EEG knowledge and prior EEG experience. The Neuro Telemetry Technician understands electrode placement, basic montages, recording integrity, common artifacts, and foundational waveform and pattern-recognition concepts. Following documented competency validation, the Neuro Telemetry Technician may perform defined technical procedures such as patient preparation, routine electrode application, equipment setup, impedance and data-quality checks, troubleshooting, and patient disconnects.
This is a specialized pre-registry position and is distinct from the Neurophysiology Technologist I trainee role. It requires a bachelor's degree and prior EEG experience so that the employee can contribute to neurotelemetry and protocol-directed research activities upon completion of role-specific orientation. The position does not independently interpret EEG findings or render diagnostic conclusions.
