The Opportunity:
Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and support reliable software solutions. In this role, you will translate product and business requirements into maintainable code, contribute to technical design, and collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, and engineering partners to deliver secure, scalable solutions that support customer and business needs.
The ideal candidate brings solid software engineering fundamentals, sound problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to quality. This individual is comfortable working across the software development lifecycle, participating in code reviews and design discussions, and continuously expanding their technical knowledge.

Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting efforts, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
Take accountability for assigned deliverables and help ensure solutions meet standards for quality, performance, reliability, maintainability, and production readiness.
Apply engineering practices related to automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, telemetry, monitoring, and iterative delivery.
Identify technical issues, investigate root causes, and contribute to durable solutions rather than short-term fixes.
Participate in knowledge sharing, provide thoughtful peer feedback, and seek guidance from more experienced engineers to strengthen technical skills.
Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, business stakeholders, and engineering partners to resolve blockers and align technical work with business outcomes.
Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, debugging, test generation, documentation, and learning while maintaining ownership of code quality, security, and maintainability.
Review AI-generated output critically and apply sound judgment to ensure accuracy, security, quality, and maintainability.
Explore modern technologies and engineering approaches that reduce friction, improve processes, and enhance patient and client experiences.
Perform other duties as assigned and support onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate office locations when business needs require.

Compuer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Hands-on experience developing and supporting production applications using modern programming languages, frameworks, and technology stacks.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build and release automation, quality gates, and Infrastructure as Code; exposure to Terraform is preferred.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and familiarity with containerization, Docker, or cloud-native architecture patterns.
Experience developing or supporting REST APIs and familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, messaging patterns, or background processing.
Understanding of DevOps and engineering fundamentals, including automated testing, code reviews, telemetry, monitoring, security, and iterative delivery.
Familiarity with observability tools and practices; experience with Application Insights or KQL is preferred.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, such as SQL Server; exposure to additional data technologies is preferred.
Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework, Dapper, ORM Lite, or comparable tools.
Working knowledge of software design principles and architecture patterns related to scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Exposure to Databricks or modern data platform integrations is preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical, globally distributed teams.
Curiosity and openness to learning, including the responsible use of AI and emerging technologies to improve engineering outcomes.
This is a remote position; candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
This position pays between $100,000-150,000 based on experience
Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
