Employer job description

HSI is seeking a flexible, organized, and customer-focused Onsite Inventory Technician to support chemical inventory projects at customer locations throughout the United States and Canada.
This casual position combines frequent travel and hands-on inventory work at customer sites with remote data entry and operational support between assignments. You'll interact directly with customers and represent HSI onsite, so professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and reliability are essential.

Travel averages approximately 75% and may be higher at times, primarily by air.
Candidates must live within approximately one hour of a commercial airport.
Assignments may range from a single day to approximately one week. We generally aim to provide about two weeks' notice, although shorter notice may occasionally be necessary.
Project work generally takes place Monday through Friday. Occasional Sunday travel may be required for a Monday project start.
Required business travel time is paid.
Technicians arrange their own flights, hotels, and rental cars. A company credit card is provided for eligible business travel expenses.
What You'll Do

- Identify and document products and materials located at customer sites while following established HSI processes and project instructions.
- Use HSI's proprietary software to enter information and support chemical identification and recordkeeping.
- Communicate professionally and confidently with customers and internal team members, providing a high level of customer service.
- Follow customer-site policies, procedures, and safety requirements while completing inventory work.
- Work independently on assignments as well as alongside other technicians when projects require a team.
- Coordinate your business travel, including flights, hotels, and rental cars, and maintain required travel and expense documentation.
- Complete accurate data entry and other operational support work remotely between field assignments based on team needs.
- Maintain organized project documentation and provide appropriate progress updates.
- Apply training, coaching, and feedback to continually improve accuracy and execution.
- Support quality initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and other chemical operations activities as assigned.

- Residence within approximately one hour of a commercial airport.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to independently rent and operate a vehicle for business travel in accordance with applicable rental-car requirements.
- Valid U.S. passport or able to obtain one upon hire.
- Ability to meet applicable drug-testing requirements in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
