This position requires the ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently in all growing regions with little or no supervision. This California Giant QC Inspector position will inspect fruit according to California Giant standards and specifications.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
· Conduct thorough inspections and grading of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries according to company’s grading standards and specifications.
Accurate entry of reports into quality system platforms using computers or tablets
Follow the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s) for handling of fresh berries
Send email communications about product quality to QA management, growers, cooling operations, sourcing and sales using iPad.
Assist the QA team in other duties assigned such as but not limited to shelf-life studies, re-inspections and lotting of product.
Receive unannounced customer visits.
Continuously look for ways to improve sustainability practices in daily work routine and seek opportunities to contribute to sustainability goals set by the organization.
