Loading LAYIQ…An Ashby job is on the public list while it is published and marked as listed. Paste a link from jobs.ashbyhq.com to see whether Ashby’s public job data lists it and which date it gives. Ashby gives the date a job was last published, so a republished job can look newer than it is.
Ashby names each employer’s hosted board with a jobs page name. Its documentation says “Your request must include your organization’s Ashby jobs page name in the URL path,” and gives https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/Ashby as an example, where Ashby is the jobs page name.1 A job adds its ID to the board’s address. When we read the public job data for Ashby’s own board on October 7, 2026, every one of its 67 jobs was linked at jobs.ashbyhq.com/ashby/{job-id}, with its application page at the same address ending in /application.5
| Link shape | What it is | Checker |
|---|---|---|
| jobs.ashbyhq.com/{board} | The employer’s Ashby-hosted job board, named by its jobs page name.1 | A list, not one job. Open it and copy a job’s link. |
| jobs.ashbyhq.com/{board}/{job-id} | One job’s hosted page. Ashby’s data describes it as the “URL of the Ashby hosted page for this job.”1 | Reads it |
| jobs.ashbyhq.com/{board}/{job-id}/application | The page where candidates apply, which Ashby’s data describes as the “URL for the Ashby page where candidates can apply for this job.”1 | Reads it as the same job |
| company.com/careers?ashby_jid={job-id} | A careers page on the employer’s own domain that embeds the Ashby board.3 | Does not read it. Follow its Apply button and paste the jobs.ashbyhq.com address. |
Ashby does not host a board on an employer’s domain. Its documentation answers the question about custom domains with “custom domains aren’t currently supported,” and suggests “embedding your job board via script or using an iFrame.”2 Ashby lists four ways to put its jobs on a careers page: link out to the hosted board, embed it, list jobs from its API, or build a custom page from the API.2 Where a page embeds the board, Ashby says its View Posting button “relies on the ashby_jid URL parameter to identify which job to display,” as in company.com/careers?ashby_jid={job-id}.3
If you can read a page’s source, the embed is a script that loads from jobs.ashbyhq.com, followed by the board’s name and /embed.3 That name is the board part of the address you need. Ashby’s documentation shows a job ID such as 45134452-f53b-4d4c-915e-4a4615fb6c93 beside the hosted address https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ashby/45134452-f53b-4d4c-915e-4a4615fb6c93.3
Ashby’s public posting API “allows you to get data for all currently published Job Postings for your organization.”1 The response is the whole board’s list, not one job. The checker reads that list once for the board in your link and looks for the job’s ID in it. If the board answers and the job is in the list, Ashby lists it as published. If the board answers and the job is not there, the result says the employer’s system no longer lists this job.
Ashby documents publishedAt as “ISO DateTime when the job was last published.”1 That is a different date from the one Greenhouse and Lever give. A job that is taken down and published again can carry a newer date than the day the role first went public, so the checker adds a note to Ashby results: Ashby gives the date a job was last published, so a reposted job can look newer than it is.
Ashby does track more than one date. Its job postings table shows, by default, “Days since last published, Created At date, and Published At date.”4 The public data documents only publishedAt,1 so the created date is not something the checker can read. If a role looks brand new, search the title on the employer’s careers page and see whether it has been listed before.
Ashby’s data marks each job with isListed, described as “Should this job be listed in the list of postings on your job board. If false, this listing should only be available via direct link.”1 Inside Ashby, the Job Postings page that employers use sorts postings into “Listed, Unlisted, and Draft.”4
The checker treats a job that is not listed like a job that is missing from the list, because the public data is where it reads from. A job open only by direct link therefore gets the same answer as a job that is gone: the employer’s system no longer lists it. If a recruiter sent you the link, ask whether the role is open to applications.
Open jobs.ashbyhq.com followed by the board’s name. That is the employer’s hosted board, the address Ashby tells employers to copy when they link out to it.2 Look for the title, and compare the job ID in its address with the one in your link. Remember that an unlisted job does not appear on the board.1 A job that is on the board is listed there. Whether the team is reviewing applications is something only the recruiter can say.
It is the board’s name, the part of the address right after jobs.ashbyhq.com. Ashby’s documentation gives https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/Ashby as an example and says Ashby is the jobs page name.1
Ashby’s public date is publishedAt, “ISO DateTime when the job was last published.”1 A job that was published again shows the later date. Search the employer’s careers page for the title, and ask whether the role has been open before.
Ashby describes an unlisted job as one that “should only be available via direct link.”1 It does not appear in the board’s list, so the checker reports that the employer’s system no longer lists it. The link may still open, so ask the recruiter whether the job is open.
Paste the address the page’s Apply button leads to, if it is a jobs.ashbyhq.com address. Ashby says custom domains “aren’t currently supported,” so a careers page on a company’s own domain reaches Ashby through a link out, an embed or the API.2 For an address on the employer’s domain, the checker reads only the page itself, and only if the site’s robots.txt allows it, which is weaker evidence than Ashby’s data.
