NPX Medical is a division of Nextern — a global, vertically integrated medical device development and manufacturing platform. We specialize in precision metal components and assemblies, with deep expertise in nitinol engineered components, precision laser cutting and processing, and advanced catheter technologies. Our engineers bring decades of combined experience — from R&D and rapid prototyping through full commercial production
This position will be primarily responsible for receiving, in-process, and final inspection of medical device components used in and manufactured by NPX. This position will also be responsible for assisting in Quality investigations and testing as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and perform inspection and testing of materials and products from incoming material through final assembly, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and/or functional inspections of raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products in accordance with approved specifications and applicable quality standards
- Perform duties with minimal to moderate supervision
- Utilize measurement tools and equipment (e.g., pin gages, calipers, MicroVu, laser micrometers, pull testers) to verify physical dimensions and product attributes
- Verify that all measurement equipment is within current calibration status
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials
- Complete quality records, reports, and documentation in accordance with GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
- Apply and follow established sampling plans
- Participate in problem-solving activities and contribute to process and product evaluations for continuous improvement
- Provide data, analysis, and support to cross-functional teams as needed
- Support site objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory
Requirements
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing, including previous inspection experience
- Ability to read and interpret sampling and inspection plans
- Good organizational and communication
- Basic mathematics
- Detail oriented and organized
- General computer operations (e.g. Excel, Word)
Compensation
Salary range: 22-26/hr depending on skills and experience
