Distribution Center Manager (USABlueBook) - Dallas

Job Summary

Manages all warehousing and transportation activities in a distribution center. Serves as a strategic partner with logistics and supply chain management to establish and adhere to strategic initiatives and operating budgets within the facility.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Leads and manages a team of warehousing associates, including recruiting talent, developing and training associates, and conducting performance reviews.

Ensures distribution center operations align with all internal policies and external regulations.

Adjusts staffing levels to meet service, financial, budgetary, and operational support obligations.

Manages carrier services and delivery processes to maintain compliance with all DOT and HAZMAT guidelines.

Acts as a liaison to functional leadership to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.

Provides input on annual operating budgets in support of corporate financial goals and maintains responsibility for profits and losses within the facility.

Reviews and analyzes inventory reports to prevent shrinkage and ensure accurate inventory levels.

Collects and interprets information on present and future distribution needs for planning purposes.

Solutions require analysis and investigation.

Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.

Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
