At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges.
If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.
Environmental Solutions Analyst I
Resource Environmental Solutions (RES) is seeking an Environmental Solutions Analyst I to support the identification, evaluation, and development of environmental markets across our mitigation, water quality, endangered species, reclamation, and related solution lines.
This position will work at the intersection of environmental research, data analytics, GIS, regulatory intelligence, market development, and business strategy. The analyst will help RES identify where to invest, which opportunities to pursue, and how to position our capabilities with clients, agencies, consultants, partners, and regional teams.
The ideal candidate is an early-career professional who brings strong analytical and communication skills, an interest in environmental solutions and infrastructure, and the ability to translate technical information into clear, actionable recommendations.
Why You’ll Love This Job
You’ll help shape RES’s future markets
Your research and analysis will directly support how RES evaluates and pursues new commercial opportunities across the United States.
You’ll work across disciplines
You will collaborate with teams in sales, science, engineering, construction, operations, finance, policy, regulatory affairs, and regional leadership. This position provides exposure to the full lifecycle of environmental project development, from identifying an opportunity through funding, procurement, design, implementation, and long-term stewardship.
You’ll combine technical analysis with strategic thinking
You will use data, mapping, market research, regulatory information, and environmental knowledge to help the organization make informed decisions about markets, clients, projects, and resource investments.
You’ll develop valuable professional skills
This role will strengthen your abilities in data analysis, GIS, market research, technical and executive-level writing, dashboard development, stakeholder engagement, project evaluation, and strategic communication.
You may begin your day reviewing project opportunities, researching environmental regulations, evaluating agency programs, or analyzing market activity. You could then conduct a GIS-based suitability assessment, review a funding or procurement opportunity, analyze project or market data, or help prepare a recommendation for a regional or executive leadership team.
Build or update an Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or GIS-based dashboard.
Analyze a large dataset to identify trends or decision points.
Map potential restoration, mitigation, reclamation, or infrastructure opportunities.
Research a regulatory or funding pathway.
Evaluate a client, agency, market, or competitor.
Assist with a proposal, white paper, market assessment, or executive presentation.
Participate in a cross-functional meeting with sales, science, engineering, finance, policy, or operations.
Convert research into a clear recommendation regarding whether RES should invest in, advance, pause, or exit an opportunity.
This work is fast-paced, collaborative, and rooted in RES’s mission to restore and protect natural resources while creating durable environmental and community outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, planning, engineering, economics, business, public policy, data analytics, geography, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Zero to three years of relevant professional, academic, internship, research, or project-based experience.
Strong analytical, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manipulate, summarize, and interpret data.
Strong technical and creative writing ability.
Ability to communicate technical or analytical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro or comparable document-production tools.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams, organize information, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
Interest in environmental markets, natural resource restoration, sustainability, infrastructure, regulatory programs, and nature-based solutions.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines, regions, and levels of the organization.
Producing accurate, organized, and actionable market and opportunity research.
Helping regional and business development teams identify and qualify stronger opportunities.
Improving the visibility and quality of market, project, and pipeline information.
Developing useful dashboards, maps, reports, and presentations that support decision-making.
Identifying funding, regulatory, procurement, and stakeholder considerations early in the project-development process.
Helping RES coordinate capabilities and resources across regions.
Building credibility with internal teams through dependable analysis, clear communication, and timely follow-through.
Translating environmental and market intelligence into recommendations that support profitable growth and measurable environmental impact.
At RES, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental work while helping build the markets, partnerships, and strategies that will shape the company’s future.
